Guns, frozen food stolen in Sandtown

Seven long guns and some frozen food were taken in a burglary reported this weekend in the Sandtown community.

Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark said that his office received a report of a break-in around 9 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 15 at a residence on Road 761.

Clark said that entry was made through a garage window while the elderly victim was sleeping. He said they raided his gun cabinet and took seven long guns including rifles and shotguns. He said some frozen goods also appeared to be taken from an outside freezer.

“We want to get information out about this because hunting season is here and if someone is trying to sell you a gun cheap that is a red flag,” Clark said.

Anyone with information on this incident or any other crime is encouraged to please call Neshoba County Sheriff’s Office at 601-656-1414 or East Mississippi Crime Stoppers at 1-855-485 TIPS (8477).
