Grace Richardson Ward

Grace Richardson Ward, 79, of Madison, passed away on March 2, 2021, in Jackson, Mississippi. Grace was born to Archie and Christine Richardson on July 5, 1941. She grew up in the Coy Community in Kemper County. She was a graduate of Linville High School.

She married Lawrence Ward on August 16, 1959 in Coy, Mississippi. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an exceptional cook who found her greatest joy in taking care of her family, friends, and home, and working with her flowers.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Madison, Mississippi.

Grace is survived by her husband of 62 years, Lawrence; son Greg (Amy); daughter Chris (Ken) Thigpen; brothers Bruce (June) Richardson, Johnny (Glenda) Richardson; grandchildren Ryan Ward, Brett Ward, Meagan Berry, Lyndsey Dill, Sloan Chesney, Wade Chesney, and three great-grandchildren. Grace is preceded in passing by her parents and her brother Bobby Richardson. Pallbearers were Ryan Ward, Barry Richardson, Lee Ward, Kip Gaines, Kyle Gaines, Michael Berry, Stephen Dill, and Wade Chesney.

 Funeral services were held on Friday, March 5, at Natchez Trace Funeral Home in Madison with Reverend Tommy Jarrett officiating.
