Funeral service for Mr. George Davis Huffman was 2 PM Thursday, July 28, 2022, at John E. Stephens Chapel with Dr. Dan Howard and Rev. Evan Humphries officiating. Interment was in Cedar Lawn City Cemetery. Visitation was 11-2 Thursday, July 28, 2022, at John E. Stephens Chapel.

George was born to Giles and Gladys Huffman on September 9, 1943. He grew up in Weir, Mississippi and graduated from Weir High School in 1961. Upon graduation from high school, he entered the United States Air Force and served 4 years including a tour in Vietnam. He was employed by BellSouth for 32 years until his retirement. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher.

After retirement he enjoyed spending his days fishing. He visited many ponds in Neshoba County and freely gave anything he caught to anyone who would take them. Another of his favorite things was having breakfast at Nance’s Shortstop and eating lunch at various restaurants in town with Firehouse and Ronnie’s being among his favorites.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Huffman; parents, Giles Asgill Huffman and Gladys Earl Black Huffman; brothers, John Huffman, Aaron Huffman.

Survivors include daughter, Pam Huffman (Mark); sons, David Huffman (Kristen), Adam Huffman (Jenny); sisters, Malana Moore, Martha Bruce; brothers, Ramsey, Andy, and Louis Huffman; (7) grandchildren; (2) great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Quality Hospice for the excellent care that was provided for their father over the last few months. They would also like to thank Dr. Dwight Keady and his staff for their care throughout the years.
