Funeral service for Mrs. Gabriele Katherina (Kathy) Tingle will be 3 PM Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Henry’s Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Gomillion and Andy Tingle officiating. Interment will be in Henry’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-3 PM Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Henry’s Chapel. John E. Stephens Chapel is in charge.

Gabriele Katherina (Kathy) Tingle passed away January 27, 2022, after a long illness. Kathy was born October 1, 1947, in Hamburg Germany to Dr. Wolfe and Johanna Heyn. Much of her early childhood was spent living in Iran with her parents.

After graduating high school in Sweden, she attended University of Berlin in Germany. She began working for United Airlines after university as a systems analyst. Over the course of several years, she worked throughout the world in the travel industry. She devoted her time to traveling around the world and experiencing as many cultures as possible. She proficiently spoke 4 languages and never missed an opportunity to get to know people from all cultures. In 1991 she married Sam Tingle, the love of her life and after a couple of years living in Ocean Springs Ms., the couple moved to Philadelphia’s Fork Community. Kathy worked at Silver Star Casino for many years and worked hard at raising her youngest step son and being the Matriarch of her family. Her true passions were fishing, gardening and cooking. Kathy’s culinary skills were second to none and her favorite dishes consisted of food from around the world.

Kathy is survived by her husband Sam Tingle, 2 stepsons, 7 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. Sister-in-law Nancy Chaney (James) and brother-in-law Ross Tingle (Cindy).
