Ford collecting food donations

Marshall Ford is getting involved in helping the community by partnering with Open Arms in their “Stuff the Truck” campaign to collect non-perishables for people in need.

Molly Marshall, social media director at Marshall Ford, said the dealership is stuffing trucks with non-perishable items that will be donated directly to Open Arms and distributed to the community on Tuesday, Nov. 8.

“Even if we just help one family, it’s important,” Marshall said. "I certainly hope we fill the entire truck, but anything helps. My daughter works with The Blessing Box at the Depot so this stems from that as well.”

Items needed for Stuff the Truck include macaroni and cheese, spaghetti sauce and noodles, canned tuna, crackers, grits, peanut butter, jelly, Chef Boyardee, and other canned goods such as soup, vegetables and fruit.

Marshall said Marshall Ford wanted to be more involved in the community, which sparked the idea to partner with Open Arms and collect food for people in need.

“I believe we need to be more involved in community stuff and since I had Thanksgiving and food on my mind, it made me think of Open Arms,” Marshall said. “We wanted to be part of the holiday food collection effort, and we’re going to stuff trucks and be involved.”

She said that any and all food for the cause should be dropped off by Marshall Ford, and donors can register there on site to win two tickets to the MSU vs. Georgia football game on Nov. 12.

Marshall Ford is located at 14843 Highway 16 West.
