It was officially announced Wednesday night that all details concerning the erection of the proposed $80,000.00 glove factory had been satisfactorily worked out and that work on the huge 36,000 square foot structure would be started just as soon as the necessary materials arrived.
An all-time record was set in Neshoba county's recent March-O-Dimes 1945 Fund Raising campaign for the National Infantile Paralysis Foundation. A report issued this week revealed that a total of $1,352.97 has been actually received and credited to the Neshoba County Chapter.
February 17, 1955
Norman Molpus, grocer and civic leader, has been named chairman for Members and Funds in Neshoba County, according to an announcement by R.C. Peebles, chairman of the Neshoba County Red Cross Chapter.
February 18, 1965
A rat extermination campaign will be held for three days here next Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, Feb. 24, 25, and 26, it was announced this week by Mayor Ab Harbour.
Seven more businesses and nine individuals were added to the 1965 membership of the Philadelphia-Neshoba County Chamber of Commerce during the past week, it was announced.

The building of the new Philadelphia Country Club is well underway and will be a facility that the entire community can be proud of, said Country Club President Hugh Thomasson.
Philadelphia's basketball boys are now participating in the North Mississippi BB basketball tournament to be held through Saturday night. The Tornadoes battled Baldwyn last night.

The arctic cold air which as brought record temperatures to much of the country is also responsible for sharply higher bills to electric heating customers in this area, said John Burt, manager of Philadelphia Utilities, and Paul Long, manager of Central Electric Power Association.
The public has been invited to open house Sunday at the new Neshoba County Medical Arts Clinic and the Neshoba County General Hospital.

East Neshoba Volunteer Fire Department is currently sponsoring a fund drive to help with the installation of 10 fire hydrants at locations over the part of Neshoba County served by the department.
Crawley Akins, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Neshoba County School District, resigned Thursday after 10 years of service.

A 20-acre site off Mississippi 16 west has been re-zoned for apartments by the Mayor and Board of Aldermen.
Neshoba County residents could see high-tech jobs start opening up in the very near future with a new tribal enterprise set to begin manufacturing next month.

A ribbon cutting celebration for the new $55 million Choctaw Health Center at 210 Hospital Circle is planned Monday, March 2 at 10 a.m. Following the program, the public is invited to tour the new facility and enjoy special activities.
Neshoba County Public Library has launched a new cloud-based computer catalog system called Apollo, replacing the AutoGraphics cataloging and circulation system acquired in 2009.
