Capt. J. R. Williams, Public Relations Officer of the Civil Air Patrol has announced that Clifford C Davis, Jr., a former resident of Philadelphia, has been appointed to the Group Staff of the Tennessee Wing of the Civil Air Patrol, with the rank of second lieutenant.

The State Health Department announced today that their X-Ray Mobile unit will be at the Neshoba County Fairgrounds Friday, August 13th. Also the same unit will be at the courthouse square Saturday.

Over 300 farmers and cattle raisers whose crop and pastures are suffering from the drought and whose cattle are beginning to suffer for water were made happy Wednesday morning when Board of Directors of the American Legion Pond post 138 of Neshoba County opened the valves of the dykes of the 300 acre American Legion pond.

Construction work by TVA which will provide a large increase in the supply of electricity to the southern portion of its service area in Miss., is nearing completion. The work which will cost about $2,000,000, consists essentially of raising the operating voltage of the transmission line from TVA's Midway substation.

The Neshoba County Forestry Association will conduct a summer tour Saturday to look at several management practices that are applicable for this season of the year.

With a $5 million increase in Neshoba County's assessed value, the Board of Supervisors on Monday reviewed the "wish lists" from county department heads for Fiscal Year 2015 which, if granted, would cost the county more than $822,000.
