Fast food restaurant under construction

A Jack’s fast-food restaurant is under construction on Beacon Street just west of Walmart.
Founded in Homewood, Ala., in 1960 as a walk-up stand that served 10-cent sodas, 15-cent fries, and 20-cent shakes, the chain now has more than 145 locations throughout the Southeast.
Company officials have a tentative opening date mid-November before the holidays.
