Visitation was held Thursday, October 20, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. at McClain-Hays. The funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 21, 2022, at First United Methodist Church. Interment was in the Cedarlawn Cemetery. Officiating Minister Kenneth Pack Toler III.

The Honorable Edward A. Williamson passed away at his home October 18, 2022. 

Mr. Williamson lived a life of service to others. He enlisted in the US Army in 1968. Following his military service, he enrolled in the University of Southern Mississippi where he studied History and Criminal Justice. Mr. Williamson then entered law school at the University of Memphis. Mr. Williamson established his private practice in 1976. In 1977, he was elected District Attorney of the Eighth Circuit Court District, and appointed Circuit Judge by Governor Bill Allain. Mr. Williamson returned to private practice where he tirelessly and passionately worked to defend and uphold constitutional law. He judged righteously and pleaded the court of the poor and the needy.

Although Mr. Williamson served his community and country with honor, he served his family with fervor. To his family he was simply known as Big. He lived his life in daily celebration of his family and was ever present in each of their lives.

He is survived by his consummate wife, Gloria; his children Kelli, Erin and Brett, Sherry and Dan, Wendy and David; his grandchildren Joe, Katie Ryan, Haley, Brock, Hannah, Mary Stanton, Pack, Austin, Kaleb, Karley, Bryce, Hampton, and Ashlynn, and eight great-grandchildren; and brothers, Stan and Tom.

He is preceeded in death by his parents, Arnold and Mary Jane; daughter, Dawn; son-in-law, Nicky; and, great-grandson, Riley Scott.

Pallbearers will be Joe Sanderson, Brock Sanderson, Austin Sparks, Will Williamson, Kaleb Sparks, Bryce Smith, Jeff Clark and Hampton Smith.
