Former Philadelphia High School standout Marcus Dupree has been selected to be enshrined into the National High School Football Hall of Fame 2023 Class, it was announced last week.

"I'm so humbled..Mama I made it!!!!!!!..God is Good" Dupree posted on his Facebook page last Monday.

One of the most highly sought-after college football recruits in 1982, Dupree landed at Oklahoma, where he was named Football News Freshman of the Year, second-team All-American and Big Eight Conference Newcomer of the Year.

Dupree left in the middle of his sophomore season and briefly attended the University of Southern Mississippi. He played spring football for the Golden Eagles and finished college at the university.

Dupree later played in the United States Football League and returned to professional football in 1990, playing in 15 games over two seasons for the Los Angeles Rams.
