A Louisville woman has been arrested and charged with manslaughter in connection with a deadly wreck on Highway 16 west last week, the authorities said.

The woman, Tyjaylan K. Harrison, 20, 7272 Young Crossing Road, Louisville, was arrested and charged with manslaughter in the Oct. 31 accident.

Jail records show Harrison was out on a $50,000 in bond by Thursday, Nov. 3.

Philadelphia Police Chief Eric Lyons said the charge stems from the wreck reported at about 3 p.m. near Tractor Supply.

“Upon arrival officers observed one vehicle on its side with a driver still inside unresponsive,” Lyons said. “The other vehicle involved was on fire with the driver of that vehicle out of the wreck before fire started.”

The driver of the first vehicle was identified as Deborah Dennis, 63, of Union. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the second vehicle was identified as Harrison.

“While investigating the scene officers observed signs of impairment and possible drug use associated with Harrison,” Lyons said.

After further testing and observation it was determined that Harrison was driving under the influence of a substance other than alcohol that causes impairment.

Harrison was treated at Neshoba General Hospital for minor injuries.

Services for Dennis were held Nov. 3, at John E. Stephens Chapel with Rev. Lin Chesney and Rev. Larry Yates officiating. Interment was in Zion Church of God Cemetery at Sebastopol.

Dennis lived most of her life in Neshoba County. She was a registered nurse and enjoyed painting and keeping her grandchildren. She was a member of Zion Church of God.
