Driver strikes business owner at Valley View store

A business owner was struck by a car in the parking lot of the Valley View Shopping Center two weeks ago and the authorities say the investigation is continuing..

No charges have been filed in connection with the case near Brown’s Discount Drugs, according to Philadelphia Police Chief Eric Lyons. 

“No charges have been filed at this time but are not ruled out,” Lyons said. 

The incident occurred on March 14 when owner Gene Brown was walking in the parking lot and was struck by a black Chevy Impala, Lyons said. 

The driver told police they did not see Brown who was transported to Neshoba General with severe injuries, Lyons said.
