Drive-through at Choctaw Health Center planned
A groundbreaking ceremony was held for a new Choctaw Health Center drive-through on Wednesday.
Tribal Chief Cyrus Ben, 2019-2021 Choctaw Indian Princess Elisah Monique Jimmie, CHC and Tribal officials and project partners were on hand to break ground on the new addition.
The drive-through will be a valuable safety asset for distributing medication to patients, especially during this pandemic.
Additionally, the drive-through would be beneficial to patients with limited mobility, officials said.
The 200 square-foot expansion, designed by Singleton Architects, costs approximately $385,000, which is funded by federal HHS-Provider Relief Funding, a grant provided for Tribal hospitals, clinics and urban health centers to support the response to COVID-19.
Construction for the drive-through is expected to begin on March 1 and completed by late spring/early summer 2021.
The contractor is Matt Boatner Construction, Inc.
