Doctor opens new car dealership in Philadelphia

Dr. Azhar Pasha said opening his new car dealership is exciting and he can’t wait to be part of the revitalization of Philadelphia while selling cars and helping patients in his pain management clinic. 

“I’m very thankful to the City of Philadelphia,” Pasha said. “They’ve been very helpful with this project and it’s been a great experience. We’re very happy to be new neighbors, and we’re very pleased and grateful for all they’ve done for us.”

Pasha’s new dealership, Doc’s Toyota, first broke ground in March 2022 and recently opened to the public on Monday, Oct. 17. Pasha said an official ribbon cutting for the dealership is set for sometime in December. 

Before opening his dealership, Pasha started his career in medicine at UMMC in 1999. He lived in Madison while training and familiarized himself with Philadelphia while commuting there to train in the ER at Neshoba General Hospital. In 2014 he started his own pain management clinic at the hospital and still visits the clinic every week on Tuesday and Fridays. 

Before Pasha purchased the dealership, it was originally in operation in Louisville. Pasha purchased it in July 2020, and learned the previous owner had planned to move the business to Philadelphia, which Pasha said worked out perfectly since he wanted to have a site that was easily accessible from Philadelphia and the surrounding area. 

“The people there were very good to me, just like the people in Philadelphia,” he said. “We couldn’t have asked for better partners in this process and we were very lucky to secure Yates Construction to help us with the project.”

Pasha said his new dealership will have a positive impact on Neshoba County and Philadelphia. 

“All car dealerships make a lot of tax revenue for the city and county,” Pasha said. “We also believe the employment opportunities will be good for locals and we plan to partner with some community colleges in the area, so we will have students rotate through our service department for training. A lot of people in Neshoba County and Philadelphia drive Toyotas, so it will be more convenient for them to have the services they need available here in the city.” 

Doc’s Toyota is located across from the Bumper’s Drive-In on Mississippi 16 west and offers a variety of Toyota cars, such as Corollas, Camrys, family SUVs, trucks, and minivans. Pasha said he hopes to have enough cars and selections to have them out in the lot for customers and quick delivery soon. 

Pasha noted that he wants to be good neighbors with Philadelphia and for people to have a great experience buying a car. 

“We’re very happy to be doing business in Neshoba County and the city of Philadelphia,” he said. “My staff helps people. They sit in the vehicle with the customers and show them the electronics, like how to sync your phone with the car. We hope to stay in Philadelphia for a very long time.” 

Docs Toyota is located at 15120 MS-16 in Philadelphia and is open Monday through Friday for car service, and Monday through Saturday for car sales. Their hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
