A man is in custody after he was caught with drugs, cash, a firearm and other drug paraphernalia in a traffic stop last Monday on Highway 482.

Jarrett Jayroe, 19, 1066 Frog Level Lane, was arrested and charged with two felony possession of marijuana with intent to distribute charges, one misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance charge and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jayroe bonded out on June 17, on $20,600 in bond.

Sheriff Eric Clark said that Jayroe was stopped on Highway 482 on June 14. The traffic stop yielded $2,184 in cash, a pistol, bags of marijuana, prepackaged edible marijuana products and paraphernalia including a scale and plastic bags.

“The week has been a busy week,” Clark said last week.

“I want the public to know that we are always on the lookout for bad guys. We are transparent in our operations and show you where your law enforcement dollars are being spent. They are being spent actively patrolling our communities and investigating crime.”

Clark said that anyone that has any information about crimes in the area is encouraged to call Neshoba County Sheriff’s Office at 601-656-1414 or East Mississippi Crime Stoppers at 1-855-485-8477 (TIPS).
