An Ackerman man faces felony charges in Neshoba County in relation to an ATV stolen earlier this month.

Edward Blake Paten, 22, address unavailable, Highway 15, Ackerman, faces grand larceny charges pending extradition here, said Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark.

Clark said Paten is a suspect in the theft of a green Honda ATV reported on Road 173 in Neshoba County on Sept. 10.

Clark said that Deputy Josh Jolly travelled to Choctaw County to interview Paten on Sunday concerning the ATV. During the interview July obtained the whereabouts of the stolen vehicle. It was recovered in Choctaw County, about 40 miles from where it was stolen in Neshoba County.

Clarks aid the owner has identified the vehicle and it has been returned to him.

“The victim has identified the vehicle,” Clark said. “He was very thankful for the effort officer Jolly put into this investigation.”

Clark said Jolly’s work this weekend was another example of his deputies going the extra mile for a case.

Clark said he was not sure what charges, if any charges, Paten faced in Choctaw and said that they will extradite Paten when Choctaw authorities are done with him.

Choctaw County jail records show that Paten was brought into custody on Friday, Sept. 17.
