Two men were arrested and charged after being caught with an all-terrain vehicle taken from Winston County, the authorities said.

Thomas W. Hartley, 37, of 356 North Street, Union, and Ronald Regan, 70, of 495 East Main Street, Noxapater were arrested and held at the Neshoba County Detention Center.

Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark said that the two were arrested in connection with the taking of a yellow Honda ATV from Winston County and will face grand larceny charges there.

Clark said that on Aug. 13 suspicious activity at a residence on Herman Alford Memorial Highway in Philadelphia sparked an investigation that led to the recovery of the stolen ATV.

Regan and Hartley were identified as the two people responsible for the theft and were taken into custody.

The Honda ATV was stolen from the Noxapater area in Winston County just minutes earlier, Clark said. The owner of the ATV was contacted by the Neshoba County Sheriff’s Department and advised to check on his property prior to discovery.

Hartley and Regan were picked up by the Winston County Sheriff’s Department and questioned in connection with the theft.

The yellow Honda Rancher ATV was released to its owner, Kevin Weeks of Noxapater.
