Dean Barrett

Funeral services were held at 2 pm on Sunday, June 29, 2025 from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Jerry Bishop officiating. Interment followed in Bloomfield Cemetery. McClain-Hays Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Dean Barrett, 102, of Neshoba County, passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2025.

Dean was born and raised in the area and graduated from Bloomo School. She cherished her role as a homemaker, a cook, a seamstress, and making beautiful ceramics and tending to her garden. Ms. Barrett was a member of Center Hill Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Frances Sciple and Jennie Barrett; two grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.

Dean was preceded in death by her husband, Bobbie "Buntyn" Barrett; grandchildren, DJ Creekmore and Jayson Roberts; parents, Henry and Annie Spears; sisters, Nancy, Bonnie Jean, and Christine; brothers, Odell, Clea, and Argle.
