Former Philadelphia Lady Tornado softball standout Alyssa ‘Tata’ Davis has been named to the All-Conference USA softball team representing the University of Southern Mississippi for the 2022 season.

This is the second year in a row that Davis has been named all-conference.

Davis concluded her final season with the Black and Gold with a batting average of .370, the highest of any Golden Eagle, and her 67 hits ranked third in Conference USA and 20th in the nation. Davis started all 52 games at second base, finishing the year with 104 total bases, 41 RBIs, and eight home runs. Davis was all conference last year.

“Tata is one of the hardest workers on the team,” Head Coach Brian Levins said. “She has been the ultimate example of what it means to be a Golden Eagle. I am extremely grateful she has been named all-conference first team as she deserves that honor.”

Davis played fast-pitch and slow-pitch lettered all four seasons at Philadelphia High School. She helped the Lady Tornadoes to the postseason finals in her senior campaign and was a member of the 2015 Fastpitch State Championship team. She was a First Team All-District selection her sophomore, junior and senior seasons and played in the All-Star Game and was named MVP of the game She also played basketball, and was named best defensive player her sophomore year and led the team in steals.
