David Traywick, 66, of Philadelphia, MS passed away on April 29th, 2025, in Baptist Anderson Hospital.

He was born January 24, 1959, to Louise and Jim Traywick of Maplesville, AL.

David is survived by his son Trinton Barfoot; brothers, Mike (Kleasa) Boozer, Bill Traywick, Joey Smith, Christopher Smith (Brandy); sisters, Debra Tyler, Avis Cleckler, Sissy Greene (Jerry), Renae Walley (Wilson); 8 beautiful nieces; very special friends, Dianna Wooten, Janice Bozeman, Bonnie Carroll, and a host of neighbors and friends.

David was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Headley Traywick, father, Jim Traywick; brother, Tommy Bean; sister, Pat Mathis; father figure, Vernon Smith.

David graduated from Isabella High School and moved to Meridian to live with his brother Mike and Kleasa where he began his career in Town Craft Cookware until his opportunity to purchase a flower shop in Philadelphia, this led to his dream job with floral design and catering at the Added Touch Flower and Gifts.

Later David had the opportunity to purchase the Ruby Yates House, and he opened it up as a venue. To know David was to love David for his wonderful gift that God gave him and that was “giving”.

David had a very giving soul. If he saw a need, he supplied it. If he knew of someone that was hungry, he fed them. He helped the weak, widows, children, the unfortunate, the underprivileged, the sick, elderly and those who just could not understand.

His days on earth were full of fun, laughs, weddings, cooking, catering, raising animals, teaching his gift of floral arrangements and keeping up some sort of nonsense at all times.

David was a dreamer of how to make old things look new or better. Most of all, David was a “Dad” he did not have to be, and he spent a lot of time providing in this way. David, through his gift of “giving” prospered and he still continued to give.

Through his flower shop he made many friends and because of his love for community, his family is grateful to have shared him and watched him share his love in ways only he could do during his time on Earth.

Pallbearers were Ethan Tate, Jerry Greene, Bobby Joe Greene, Cade Little, Cameron Norton, Peyton Robertson.
