Curtis W. Conner was born on March 30, 1927, to the late George and Elva Warren Conner in Noxubee County, MS. He was educated in the Noxubee County schools and later married Erah Conner. He supported his family by being a self-employed farmer and cattleman. There are few jobs that any man can engage in that will require more hard work and complete daily dedication to than this lifestyle. Additionally he also helped at the Macon cattle auction on Mondays and Thursdays for many years. Curtis put in long days of work, but he was never too tired to help anyone in the church or the community that needed it. He enjoyed being with his family and together they travelled all across America to see the popular sights. He loved to hunt and fish and introduced his children to these sports at an early age so that they could learn to enjoy the out-of-doors. He was a loving husband and father and, as his extended family grew, also a grandfather and great-grandfather that was completely devoted to his family.  Curtis was a member of Soul Harbor Pentecostal Church in Shuqualak, MS and was also a Mason at the Summerville, MS Lodge #64. Curtis was a quiet person, but his opinions and view-points were respected by everyone.

Curtis is survived by one daughter: Reba Conner of Preston and by two sons: Michael Conner of Kosciusko, MS and Kenny Conner of Preston, MS. He is also survived by one sister: Lorraine Bishop of Meridian, MS and by one brother: Daniel Conner of Preston, MS. He is also survived by one granddaughter: Maria Walton and two great-grand-children: Conner Walton and Zander Walton. Curtis was preceded in death by his beloved wife Erah and by his siblings: Nelson Conner, Thurman Conner, and Carolyn Evans.
