Cora “Sissy” Eakes

Services for Cora “Sissy” Eakes were Monday, May 24, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Bennie Alford officiating. Burial followed in McLain Chapel Cemetery.  McClain-Hays Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. 

Mrs. Eakes, 85, of Kemper County, died Saturday, May 22, 2021.

A native of Neshoba County, she was a resident of Kemper County for most of her life.  She was a member of Christian Life Apostolic Church in Kemper County. 

Survivors include daughters, Betty Luke of Bailey and Margaret McDonald of Livingston, AL; sons, Ricky Eakes and Eugene Eakes, both of Philadelphia; two grandchildren; one great-grandson, Walt McDonald; sister, Bobbie Shoemaker of Forest.

Preceding Mrs. Eakes in death were husband, Bobby Gene Eakes; and daughter, Peggy Eakes.
