Conehatta man sentenced in sexual abuse of a minor case

A Conehatta man was sentenced to 24 years and 4 months in federal prison for sexual abuse of a minor on the Choctaw Indian Reservation.

According to court documents, Brett Keith Thomas, 28, sexually abused a minor who was under the age of 12 years old.  The abuse occurred in 2016.  Thomas was indicted by a federal grand jury in July 2023 and pleaded guilty in June 2024.

U.S. Attorney Todd Gee and Robert Eikhoff, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Jackson Office, made the announcement.  

The Choctaw Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation investigated the case.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Kevin J. Payne and Brian K. Burns prosecuted the case.
