Mississippi Highway Patrol troopers are investigating a wreck that killed a Conehatta man and injured a Philadelphia woman Wednesday afternoon.

MHP received a Neshoba County Sheriff’s Department report of a two-vehicle crash on Highway 21 near Road 129 around Dixon at 1:57 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 6, said MHP Sgt. Jameka Moore.

Duston A. Shaw, 36, of Conehatta, was killed in the accident and Belinda Morrow, 61, of Philadelphia, was seriously injured.

“The crash is currently under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol,” Moore said.

Preliminary reports indicate that a 2021 Chevrolet Equinox driven by Morrow was traveling north on Mississippi 21 while a 1995 Geo Tracker driven by Shaw was traveling south on Mississippi 21.

The Chevrolet Equinox and Geo Tracker collided on Mississippi 21.

Moore said that Shaw received fatal injuries from the crash and was pronounced dead on the scene. Morrow received serious injuries and was then transported to Rush Hospital in Meridian.
