Two people announced for aldermen in different wards last week.

Businessman Shaun Seales announced his candidacy for Alderman Ward 4 Saturday morning on Facebook in a short statement saying he needed 50 signatures to qualify.

He is the Founder/President and CEO at Supreme Transportation Service, according to his Facebook page.

Justin Lewis Clearman announced last Friday afternoon he will seek the Ward 1 position Joe Tullos is vacating.

“I chose not to present to you some cliché public statement on what I promise to do if elected,” he said in a Facebook post. “All I can promise you is to bring enthusiasm, transparency, and honesty to the office I hope to serve.

He went on to say that “there are some big shoes to fill with Mr. Joe Tullos retiring and I hope I am the candidate chosen to take over where he left off.”

Clearman, manager of Wells Lamont,  says he has some big ideas that will improve the area’s culture, quality, and overall financial well-being.

“I hope that I can assist in laying the foundation for those causes over the course of the next four years and beyond,” he said.

His grandfather, John F. Lewis, was an auxiliary policeman, volunteer firefighter and ultimately Fire Chief of Philadelphia in more than 20 years of public service after he retired from the United States Marine Corps.

“It is during this part of my childhood where I realized what ‘having pride in where you come from’ really means,” he said.

He and his wife Mandy have two children, Majure and Madelyn.

“All I want for this town is the best so that they will be able to say with pride that they are from Philadelphia, MS,” he wrote on Facebook.
