The Union Yellowjackets returned from spring break and got in a pair of Division 5-3A games last week.

The Yellowjackets dropped a pair of division games to Clarkdale, falling 11-0 on Monday and 12-2 on Friday.

Union will return to division play this week as they play at Morton on Tuesday and host the Panthers on Friday. Union will then play at Raleigh on Saturday in a 1 p.m. contest.

The Bulldogs scored five runs in the first inning and took a six-inning, run-rule win over the Yellowjackets on Friday in division play.

Clarkdale outhit Union 12-5 in the contest. Kolton Cockerham and Colt Smith each singled and scored while Riley Martin, Cameron Sanderson and Hayden Dolan each singled. Samuel Allawine also walked twice.

Jacob Freeman started on the mound for Union and pitched 2 1/3 innings, giving up eight runs on seven hits and three walks. Martin pitched the last three innings and gave up four runs on five hits and three walks.

The Yellowjackets went hitless as the Bulldogs took a five-inning, run-rule win on Monday in division play.

Clarkdale opened up a big early lead as they scored seven in the second and four in the fourth.

Colt Smith started on the mound and pitched three innings, giving up nine runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out three. Kaleb Casey pitched the last two innings and gave up two runs on two hits while striking out three.
