Clara Ann Banks Johnson Lewis, 87, a long time resident of Madden and recently Carthage, went to her meet her Lord and Savior on November 1, 2021.

Clara Ann loved her church and was a 70 year member of Carolina Presbyterian Church, joining February 11, 1951. She had attended Carthage Presbyterian Church after moving to Carthage. She loved her Lord and upon entering her home, she was most often found reading her Bible. She was a prayer warrior.

Clara Ann retired as Postmistress of the Madden Post Office. She was involved with many postal committees and was instrumental in founding the Post Office at the Neshoba County Fair. She was an avid quilter. Her beautiful handiwork has been featured in magazines, publications, and museums. She designed the quilt draped on her casket and named it “I Remember Mama.” Her inspiration for this quilt came from a Mother’s Day card given to her by her son Jim Pat. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carey W. and Ruth Banks; her husband of 52 years and the father of her children, James P. (Perk) Johnson; her second husband John Lewis; her son Jim Pat Johnson; and her brother Bill Banks.

Clara Ann is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren that she adored: son Tony (Daree) Johnson of House; daughter Lisa (Bobby) Wilbanks of Carthage; and daughter-in-law Mary Jean (Steve) Johnson Green of Walnut Grove; grandchildren Kristin (Neal) Ogletree of Madden; Rian (Chelsea) Johnson of Flower Mound, TX; Regan (Jordan) Stephenson of Fower Mound, TX; Jamey Johnson of Madden; Julie (Mark) Taylor of Flowood; Jenny (Danny) Smith of Carthage; and Ashley Joyner of Southaven; great grandchildren Rheagan Taylor, Blaine Ogletree, Riley Taylor, Judd Ogletree, Conner Stephenson, Kinsley Johnson, Braylee Johnson, Kaylee Stephenson, Landry Johnson, Hadley Johnson, and Swilley Claire Smith (coming soon); sister Pat Woodrick of Tupelo.
