Christmas Parade set for Monday

The Philadelphia Christmas Parade will roll through downtown starting at 6 p.m. Monday.

Tim Moore, executive director of the Philadelphia-Neshoba Chamber of Commerce, said he expects close to 100 floats.

“The Christmas parade is always the kickoff to December and the Christmas season,” Moore said. “I hope people come and enjoy the night out in Philadelphia and enjoy the Christmas season.”

The parade will follow the same route as previous years, starting on Poplar, then going down Main Street, around the square, past the old Dees store, and ending in front of Philadelphia High School.

If you have not yet registered and want to participate, you have until 5 p.m. Thursday to register.

Applications are available at the Depot on 256 W. Beacon Street. The entry cost is $20.

For more information about the parade, contact Moore at 601-656-1000.
