Choctaw Central takes run-rule win over Tornadoes

Choctaw Central got a big win on the baseball diamond last week as they run-ruled rival Philadelphia.

The Warriors banged out 14 hits as they beat the Tornadoes 14-2 in the contest.

The Warriors don't have any scheduled games this week and will return to action on Wednesday, March 11 as they travel to Lake for a 11 a.m. contest against the Hornets and then play Sebastopol at 1:30 p.m. Then on Saturday, March 14, the Warriors will play in the Morton Tournament where they will play Morton and Quitman. The Warriors will then return from spring break and begin division play as they travel to Northeast Lauderdale on Tuesday, March 17 and then host the Trojans on Friday, March 20.

The Warriors scored in every inning and took a run-rule win over the Tornadoes on Saturday.

Choctaw scored five in the first, three in the second, two in the third and finished with four in the fourth.



Choctaw had 14 hits in the contest, led by Azalius Lewis who was 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored. Dewayne Cotton was 2-for-2 while Keyon Roach was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored. Lucas Thomas was 2-for-3 with three RBIs while Speedy Lewis doubled and scored two runs. Andre'as Jim was 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs while Braylon Smith and Ashton Grisham each scored two runs.

Lewis got the start and pitched two innings, giving up one run on one hit while striking out two. Roach pitched the final two innings and gave up one run on one hit and struck out five.
