Choctaw Central basketball teams ranked in state
Both Choctaw Central teams went undefeated last week in prep basketball action.
The Lady Warriors improved to 9-3 as they defeated Kemper County 55-33 and Columbus 58-31 in the Pontotoc weekend tournament. The Lady Warriors entered the week as the No. 3 ranked team in a Class 4A girls basketball poll.
The Choctaw Central boys ranked No. 5 in the state among Class 4A boys teams, took a 51-29 victory over Kemper County. The Warriors entered the week undefeated at 13-0.
Choctaw Central will visit Southeast Lauderdale on Thursday. Both teams travel to Tupelo for a classic game on Saturday. The Lady Warriors play Hancock at 10:15 a.m. The Warriors will play Gentry at 2 p.m.

Kylinn Bell led the Lady Warriors with 27 points while Mattison Bell added 12 points and Kyla Farmer scored 11.

Columbus 31
The Lady Warriors came on strong in the second quarter to put Columbus away.
Mattison Bell led with 16 points while Farmer scored 10.

Choctaw Central kept up a steady attack as they knocked off Kemper County last Thursday.
Thomas Tangle led the Warriors with 17 points while Hayden Jones scored 16. Johnny Vaughn scored 9 points.
