Veteran football coach Steve Cheatham has been named the head football coach at Kemper Academy. 

Cheatham was a longtime assistant coach at Neshoba Central during the 1980s. He went on to be head coach at Philadelphia High School, Neshoba Central, Choctaw Central and East Central Community College.
“We are excited to announce 

that Steve Cheatham and his wife Brenda will be joining the KA family, where he will be serving as our head football coach for the upcoming sea- son,” said Head of School Mary Ellen Waters. “Coach Cheatham has had an exemplary coaching career that has included stops at 

Neshoba Central High School (assistant/head coach), Philadelphia High School (assistant/head coach), East Central Community College (head coach), Clemson University (defensive backs), and the University of Mississippi (assistant athletic director for Football Operations) among others.
