Buckley pitches no-hitter for Yellowjackets

Jaylon Buckley pitched a no-hitter last week as he led the Union Yellowjackets to a 5-0 victory over Sebastopol in prep baseball action.

In another game, Union dropped an 11-5 decision to Enterprise. Union entered the week with a 7-6 record. Union was to visit Scott Central on Tuesday and host the Rebels on Thursday.

Buckley recorded 13 strikeouts in his work against Sebastopol.

Union scored one in the fourth, three in the fifth and one in the sixth.

Rope Lovern led the Yellowjackets at the plate with two hits. He knocked in two runs. Jacob Moore had one hit.

Union scored a run in the fourth inning to tie Enterprise at 1-1.

The Bulldogs then scored four in the bottom of the fourth, one in the fifth and five in the sixth. Union scored three in the fifth and one in the sixth.

Preston Germany took the pitching loss.

Kolton Cockerham had two hits and scored two runs. Buckley had two hits and scored a run. Peyton Posey had one hit and scored two runs and knocked in a run. Henry Thornton had one hit and knocked in three runs.
