Justice Jenifer Branning was sworn into the Mississippi Supreme Court during a ceremonial investiture held on Monday at the Ellis Theater.

The program included remarks from special guests state Rep. C. Scott Bounds, Tribal Chief Cyrus Ben, Gov. Tate Reeves, Chief Justice Michael Randolph, and Mayor James A. Young.

“I have had the opportunity to work with then-Sen. Branning as a Lieutenant Governor when she was first elected in 2015, and again for the last five years and a few days as Governor,” said Gov. Tate Reeves. “Not only did she learn quickly, and not only did I learn quickly, that she is someone of the highest intellect and of utmost character, but someone who was committed to serving her people. Justice Branning never forgot where she came from, and she never allowed anyone to steer her away from the Conservative principles she believed in. Justice Branning was an extraordinary colleague, a dedicated Conservative voice, and deeply committed to the people who entrusted her with public life. It's those qualities that will continue to guide Jenifer Branning as she serves on our state's highest court.”

Branning was joined on stage by her family for the swearing-in ceremony.
