Graveside service for Mr. Billy K. Martin was held at 2 PM Sunday, July 19, 2020 at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Noxapater. John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Service in charge.

Billy K. Martin went to his heavenly home on Friday, July 17, 2020 at the age of 87 at Neshoba General Hospital. He was born on September 18, 1932 To James Edward, Sr. and Sarah Moore Martin in Winston County, MS. He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1951-1955 in the Korean War. He then worked for the railroad for over 30 years beginning with G, M & O and for ICG Railroad until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jautees Allford Martin and three children, Jimmy (Kay) Martin of Louisville, Natalia Martin of Pearl, and Kenny (Sue) Martin of Byram. He also leaves 5 grandchildren, Joey (Bonnie) Teichert, Beverly (Paul) Sykes, Cyndi (Cole) Robinson, Ryan Thornton and Steve (Carol) Thornton. He had 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Billy is also survived by his sisters, Mary Breazeale of Brandon and Martha McBrayer of Charleston, and brother, Wayne (Carolyn) Martin of Gloster, LA. Uncle Bill is survived by numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Sarah Myatt and James Edward Martin, Jr.

Billy was a faithful member and deacon of Noxapater Baptist Church. He was his happiest when he was doing something for others. It might only be putting someone’s newspaper by their door every morning, or carrying breakfast or soup and cornbread to friends and family. He never wanted any praise or thanks, but God knew his heart and his actions.

Pallbearers are Joe Wood, Peter Hudson, James Coward, Danny Price, Randy Sullivan and Brent Manning.
