Betty Williamson Maxey

Services for Mrs. Betty Williamson Maxey were held Thursday, April 10, 2025 at 2:00 pm at McClain- Hays Chapel with Rev. Mitchell Graham officiating. Interment was held in Wheatfield Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery. McClain-Hays Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Betty leaves a legacy of love and kindness toward everyone she met. She was born and raised in the Dixon Community and made her home there after her marriage.

She worked as a factory worker and store clerk for many years.

Ms. Maxey was a lifelong member of Pine Grove Church of God at Dixon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, A.D. (Darris) and Thyra Ballinger Williamson and her husband, Hardy Maxey.

She is survived by her son, Thomas Hardy Maxey Jr. (Mechelle), and her daughter, Freda Stuart, six grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 5 great- great- grandchildren.
