Funeral services were held Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 1 p.m. from New Zion Pentecostal Church with Reverends: Josh Hodum, Randall Dunaway, and Michael Hook officiating. Burial followed in Henry’s Chapel. McClain-Hays Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements

Betty Jo “Nanny” Tolbert,92, passed on February 28, 2025 and was born on April 29, 1932 in Philadelphia. She spent her life as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and a servant of God.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Lane Tolbert; parents, Myrtle and Cecil B. Dunn; brothers, Haroce, Billy, and Bobby Dunn; sisters, Helen Rose Dunn and Donna Lee (Dunn) Snow; grandson, Matthew Smock.

Betty is survived by her sister Juanita (Dunn) McGee; children, Rose (Michael) Hook and Martha (John) Smock; grandchildren, Michaela (Rodney) Gygax, Ashley (Philip) Blaylock, and Amanda (Elijah) Alvey; great grandchildren, Caleb (Elly) Willmann, Kayla and Ethan Willmann; numerous nieces and nephews.
