Mississippi Economic Council President Scott Waller, MEC Chief Operating Officer Cathy Northington and 2024 incoming MEC Chairman Pat Thomasson of Philadelphia, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Thomasson Company, talk following an MEC Roadshow at the Ellis Tuesday that highlighted state economic actives on the local level.

Tim Moore, executive director of the Philadelphia-Neshoba Chamber of Commerce, said the Roadshow involves the MEC — or the state chamber of commerce — traveling to communities like Philadelphia to inform the public about what is going on at the state level.

Part of MEC’s strategic plan to develop a world-class workforce in Mississippi and they are working with Accelerate MS to the keep the state’s brightest and best here at home.

The excitement in Philadelphia with the Marty Stuart Congress of County Music makes Philadelphia an appealing place, Waller said.

He predicted great things to come about as a result of the top entertainment names that will be appearing.
