Benny Carman Smith

Funeral services for Benny Carman Smith were held at 1:00 pm Friday, December 20, 2024 from McClain-Hays Chapel with Bro. Christopher Callicoatte officiating. Interment followed in the Sunrise Cemetery. McClain-Hays Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Benny Smith, age 78, of Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 16, 2024 at MS Care Center in Morton.

Originally from the Zephyr Hill community in Neshoba County, Benny dedicated most of his married life to building a loving home in Hinds County. He will be fondly remembered for the warmth and joy he brought to those around him.

Benny is survived by his devoted wife, Dianne Smith; sister, Dionia Smith Tidmore (Jay); brothers, Danny Smith (Nelda) and Ricky Smith (Charlotte); nine nieces and nephews; 10 great nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Charles Smith, Charlie Smith, Clay Spencer, Brian Jones, Tanner Jones and Matt Prater.
