Beason named to Library board
Missy Beason was appointed to represent District 1 on the Philadelphia-Neshoba County Library Board during Monday’s meeting of the Board of Supervisors.
District 1 Supervisor Keith Lillis made Beason’s nomination. The board voted to affirm Beason.
In other matters, supervisors voted to:
• Hire Tyesha Davis as a full-time correctional officer at the jail; hire Ashley Fortune on a part-time basis; and, move Dekeon Kirk from part-time to full-time and approve a pay increase;
• Approve an additional school bus turnaround on 10070 County Road 2442;
• Approve the cremation of an unclaimed body in the county’s care;
• Approve for two Emergency Management employees to attend a telecommunication course in Flowood Jan. 18 and 19 and approve the payment of $300 per participant and travel;
• Approve the county employee payroll ending Dec. 14 totaling $220,538;
• Approve the elected officials payroll ending Dec. 15 totaling $51,458;
• Approve the minutes from the previous meeting, the claims docket and the out-of-order claims; and,
• Approve the meeting schedule for January, February and March 2020.
