The Neshoba Central boys basketball team improved to 12-2 as they split a pair of games last week.

The Rockets lost a 57-53 decision to New Hope last Tuesday at home. They went on the road to beat Newton County 52-43 on Friday.

Against New Hope, Patsden Williams led the scoring with 18 points followed by Jordan Ben with 15 oints.

 In the Newton County game, Williams scored 16 points.

The Rockets will return to action Tuesday when they travel to Northeast Lauderdale and return home Friday to host Kosciusko.

Neshoba Central Girls

               

The Neshoba Central Lady Rockets won two of three games last week in girls prep basketball action.

The Lady Rockets blew out New Hope 65-23 last Tuesday. They then defeated Newton County 57-37, They the dropped a 40-37 decision to Biloxi.

Zharia LeFlore scored 20 points to lead the lady Rockets past New Hope. Aaliyah Tahahwah added 13 points.

Against Newton County, Shaylynn Hunter scored 17 points to lead the Rockets. LeFlore added 13 points.

Choctaw Central Girls

The Choctaw Central Lady Warriors won two out of three games last week during their trip to Oklahoma.

They opened the week with a 70-37 win over Kemper County. They then went to Oklahoma. In their first game they lost to Riverside, OK 67-52. Then they defeated Berryhill, OK. They then closed out the week with a 71-63win over Howe, OK.

Against Kemper County, Raiyleigh Perry led the scoring with 13 points. Kylinn Bell added 11 points and Jocelyn Bell scored 10.

                

In their game against Riverside, Keshahn Wallace led the scoring with 14 points  while Malaka Morris scored 13 points and Perry and Kylinn Bell both scored 10 points.

Against Berryhill, Morris and Bell scored 13 points.

In their game against Howe, Kylinn Bell scored 20 points. Morris added 16 points and Ashlynn Stephens scored 10.

The results from the Choctaw Central boys games were not available.

Philadelphia High Boys

               

The Philadelphia boys dropped two games in prep basketball action last week.

The Tornadoes dropped a 55-53 decision to McAdams. They then dropped a 56-33 decision to Grace Baptist on the coast.

Alexander Mitchion led the Tornado in scoring against McAdams with 15 points. Haven Colburn added 10 points. Against Baptist, Colburn scored 11 points and Mitchion added 10.

Philadelphia travels to Leake County on Tuesday and Morton on Friday.

Attempts to get the Philadelphia girl’s  basketball scores were futile.
