Seven young men now face murder charges in connection with a shootout between two rival gangs in west Philadelphia last month that left an innocent man, a husband and father of two small children, dead.

Officials have now arrested 12 people total in the incident that took the life of Tommie “Tom Tom” Warren, 31, who had opened his front door to accept a pizza delivery.

Police Chief Eric Lyons announced on Dec. 31 that six people had been arrested in connection with the Dec. 27 shooting. On Jan. 6, Lyons announced that six more people had been arrested. Of those 12, seven face murder charges.

Warren, a local rapper and producer, was struck by a stray bullet and later died en route by helicopter to a Jackson hospital.

None of the 12 suspects arrested in Warren’s shooting death had posted bond as of Tuesday morning, Lyons said.

“We are still investigating, and it is possible there will be more charges,” Lyons said on Jan. 6 after the latest arrests. “A lot of individuals were involved in the whole thing.”

Warren is believed to have been the only victim of the incident and is not believed to have been an intended target.

“In reference to the attempted murder charges, there was an intended subject that one group targeted and shot at several times in an attempt to kill,” Lyons said. “That (person) was not injured, but instead a stray bullet struck and killed Tommie Warren.”

The arrests announced Jan. 6 were:

• Madison Savage, 20, of 1002 North Donald Avenue, was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit a crime and accessory after the fact.

• Drexton Gladney, 21, of 10421 Highway 395, was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit a crime and accessory after the fact.

• Kendarius Neal, 17, was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit a crime and accessory after the fact.

• Kevin Carter, 17, was charged with murder, attempted murder, aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit a crime.

• Jarren D. McBeath, 18, of 267 Bennet Street, was charged with murder, attempted murder, aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit a crime.

• Demondre Johnson, 15, was charged with murder, attempted murder, aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit a crime.

Lyons said that all of those arrested will be charged as adults.

Lyons said of those arrested last week that Jakenzie Wilson, Zykeus Macon, Jacori Reynolds and Dartavian Boyd have all picked up additional charges of attempted murder and conspiracy to commit a crime in addition to previous charges.

On Dec. 31, Lyons announced the arrest of six other individuals involved in Warren’s death:

• Boyd, 18, of Sherwood Drive, was arrested and charged with murder and aggravated assault.

• Wilson, 22, of Cora Street, was arrested and charged with murder and aggravated assault.

• Reynolds, 19, of North Donald Avenue, was arrested and charged with murder and aggravated assault.

• Macon, 22, of Samp Street, was arrested and charged with murder and aggravated assault.

• Meroski Harrington, 21, of Cajun Lane, was arrested and charged with accessory after the fact.

• James Carter, 22, of Coleman Street, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
