Two adults and three juveniles have been issued citations in connection with vandalism at Northside Park Sunday afternoon, the authorities said.

Shelby Gore, 31 of Columbus Avenue, was cited for reckless driving along with Radarius Tripplett, 21, of MLK Drive, according to Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark.

Three juveniles were cited for malicious mischief, Clark said.

Tripplett and one of the juveniles, a 17-year-old male, was also cited for reckless driving.

Clark said the case remains under investigation and further charges, citations, or even arrests are possible.

According to Clark, his office has received “several reports on previous occasions” of vehicles driving recklessly on the practice fields at Northside Park.

Law enforcement has received several complaints recently “as they try to catch the ones responsible for cutting donuts on practice fields,” Clark said.

On Sunday, May 7, at about 1:15 p.m. a Sheriff’s Deputy happened to be in the area of Northside Park when a call came in reporting vehicles on the practice fields at the park, Clark said.

“Thank you to the caller who reported this crime,” Clark said.

According to Clark, the deputy saw dust clouds and as many as three cars on the southwest side of the park near the soccer fields. Reportedly there were observers present as well.

The vehicles have been identified as a white Dodge Journey, a white Dodge Charger and a black Nissan Sentra.

The deputy was able to make contact with the driver of the Journey, who has been identified as the 17-year-old male. In his vehicle were a 14-year-old female and a 15-year-old male. Clark said the three juveniles are not affiliated with any local schools and are believed to be homeschooled.

Deputies also talked to Tripplett, who was the driver of the Charger. Clark said Tripplett had passengers in his vehicle as well.

The driver of the Sentra left the scene when the deputy arrived. Clark said his office is working to identify that driver.

Clark said Gore received the reckless driving citation upon her arrival at the scene. She has been identified as the guardian of the 15-year-old male.

Clark said no arrests were made as all were given citations and a future court date. The juveniles will go through Youth Court.

Clark said they are looking to identify other individuals in addition to the occupants of the Sentra through police body camera footage, social media activity and witness testimony.
