Neshoba County Sheriff’s deputies are on the lookout for two individuals in connection with multiple traffic violations including felony fleeing in the Linwood and House communities.

Sheriff Eric Clark said that they are on the lookout for Johnny Carmen Hernandez Jr., of 10250 Road 349 of the Linwood community. Clark said that he is wanted for felony fleeing initiated by Clark himself earlier this month.

Clark said Hernandez remains at large and is known to be with Ashely Lynn Buchanan of County Road 349. Buchanan has warrants for her arrests also.

On Saturday, Aug. 8, Clark received a call from a resident in the Linwood community complaining of a blue car with loud exhausts that was driving recklessly and forced him off the roadway.

“The caller stated, the car was traveling westbound on County Road 434,” Clark said.

Clark then went to County Road 434 and sat stationary watching traffic in hopes of coming in contact with the alleged reckless driver. He said that within minutes a 90s-model blue Honda traveled east on County Road 434 in a reckless manner.

He then attempted a traffic stop which led to a pursuit.

The driver has been identified as Hernandez. Hernandez willfully failed to stop in compliance with a visible signal given by a law enforcement officer, the Sheriff said.

The failure to stop resulted in the operation of the vehicle in a disregard for the safety of others. A felony warrant has been issued in connection with the pursuit. Hernandez also faces multiple traffic violations in connection with this event.

A Sheriff’s Office release describes Hernandez as 5’10” tall and weighing about 200 pounds.

“Anyone that lives in these 2 communities should recognize this car and his reckless driving habits,” Clark said. “If you see him, call Neshoba County Sheriff’s Office.”

The community was already on the case as early as last week. A Facebook post containing information and a picture of Hernandez has been shared more than 350 times.

“We will be watching out for him,” Kimberly Edwards said in a post.

Margo Hamilton said that she recently experienced a vehicle driving aggressively that she believed to be Hernandez.

“Will be on the lookout,” Hamilton said. “A car fitting that description almost ran me off the road on hyw 15 south the other day. He was driving too fast for me to get the plate numbers.”

Those with information can call the Neshoba County Sheriff’s Office at 601-656-1414 or East MS Crime Stoppers at 855-485 TIPS (8477).
