Neshoba County recorded 60 new COVID-19 cases and two new deaths in the past week, according to the Mississippi State Department of Health’s Oct. 5 report.

Neshoba County has now recorded a total of 6,555 cases of COVID-19 and 203 deaths since the pandemic began in March 2020.

The Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians reported five new positive cases of COVID-19 and no deaths in the past week as of Oct. 3, with the total number of positive cases for the Tribe standing at 2,451 with 123 deaths. The Tribe reported four new hospitalizations.

As of Monday, 27% of Neshoba County’s population is fully vaccinated, according to MSDH.

Vaccinations are being administered at Walgreens at 1002 W. Beacon Street in Philadelphia, according to the MSDH.

Statewide, since the pandemic began in March 2020, 283,051 confirmed COVID-19 cases have been recorded by the MSDH along with 208,051 probable cases, totaling 491,724 cases. There have been 6,533 confirmed COVID-19 deaths, along with 3,216 probable deaths, totaling 9,749 deaths.
