13 Yellowjackets join All-Region squad

The Union Yellowjackets were well represented on the Region 5-3A football team that was recently selected by the coaches.

Union had 13 players selected to the team, with three being named Most Valuable Players at their positions. Five Yellowjackets were named to the first team, and five were named to the second team.

Leading the way for the Yellowjackets was senior quarterback Kenyon Clay, who was named the Overall Player of the Year for the region. Clay finished with 132 points and 1,043 yards rushing on 140 carries despite being hurt for four games this season. Clay was also selected to play in the Mississippi-Alabama All-star football game as well for the Yellowjackets and is expected to sign with Southern Mississippi in the December signing period.

He is joined by Cameron Pascal, who was named the Most Valuable Offensive Lineman and Ky’Yon Harris, who was named the Most Valuable Safety.

Also making the 5-3A first team was Eli Rigdon, Tristan Wallace, Carlos Hickmon, Nate Killen and Dayton McDonald. 

On the 5-3A second team were Zach Collins, Kaleb Casey, Cameron Jackson, Williams Hughlett and Tank Haralson.
