1 arrested in December disturbance

A McCool man has been arrested and charged in connection with a December domestic violence dispute that occurred in Neshoba County, the authorities say.

The man, Brian Edwards, 35, of 2006 Hopewell McCool Road, McCool, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault-manifest extreme indifference to life.

Edwards remains in custody on a $5,000 bond.

Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark said Edwards was picked up by Leak County deputies on June 22 on a Neshoba County warrant. Clark said he does not believe Edwards faces additional charges in Leake County. 

He said the arrest stems from charges filed on Dec. 29 when a victim came into Neshoba General hospital and was treated.

Clark said the victim said Edwards dragged her by her hair, choked her and threw up against a vehicle on Dec. 28, at her residence on Road 610.

Clark said they were not able to catch up with Edwards until his arrest last week in Leake County.
