Neshoba countian selected for MCC's Circle of Excellence

When Meridian Community College held its summer commencement 2014, Nicholas Becton was tapped for inclusion in the College's Circle of Excellence class.

This graduate was chosen on the basis of scholarship, leadership, spirit and service. 

Becton, of Philadelphia, is a graduate of the Medical Laboratory Technology Program. 

He plans to work as a medical lab technologist and eventually pursue a degree as a medical laboratory scientist. 

Becton was a member of Phi Theta Kappa, Health Occupation Students of America, Medical Laboratory Technology student organization, American Society for Clinical Pathologists and the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science. 

He was selected as a member of Who's Who Among American Community and Junior Colleges. 

He has been a volunteer with Operation Christmas Child, MCC food pantry, MCC Helping Hands, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and scholarship fundraisers.

Area candidates for graduation included:

Kristi Lewis of Choctaw; and Abby Conn, Brandi C. Wyatt, Christen Juan Boler, Christopher Fairchild, Kristie Mitch, Memory Brooke Farrow and Nicholas A. Becton, all of Philadelphia.
