Lydian Music Club hosts sit-down dinner at Kinney home

The Lydian Music Club met Dec. 12 at 6:30 p.m. at DeAnna Kinney's home. Josephine and David Benson were also the hosts, preparing a delicious meal in the form of a sit-down dinner.

Kinney's home was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Members all enjoyed being there.

The program was entitled "Celebration of the Season." The Bensons were in charge. Mrs. Benson had us all play bells to the tune of "Creator of the Stars of Night."

The McCowan sisters, Beson, DeAnn and Sharon sang two collections. They were "Star Carol" and "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot." Two of their children also performed. Leo Kinney played a piano solo "River Boat Jazz," Selena Sistrunk played "To God Be the Glory" on trumpet and "Sonatina" on the piano. It was all beautiful.

It was announced that Feb. 22 is the date for festival at the Neshoba Central School.

Those present were:

Cary Eldridge, Sue Lewis, Glenda Richardson, Ruth Conn, Joan Hight, Carol Kilpatrick, David and Jo Benson, Jean Yates, the McCowan sisters and their children.
