Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Ford Rigney of Hattiesburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Reagan Elizabeth, to Matthew Douglas Bates, son of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Jay Bates of Philadelphia.

Miss Rigney is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elroy Wendell Necaise of Poplarville and Mr. and Mrs. James Deward Rigney of Poplarville.

Mr. Bates is the grandson of Mrs. Dorothy Faye Jones and the late Paul Shelton Jones of Philadelphia and Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Bates of Philadelphia.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Oak Grove High School and The University of Southern Mississippi. While at USM, she was a Leadership Scholar and a Hattiesburg Debutante. She is employed with Lamar County School District.

Mr. Bates is a graduate of Leak Academy in Madden and Mississippi State University in Starkville, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He is employed with B&G Equipment in Hattiesburg.

Wedding vows will be exchanged at 6 p.m. on July 6, 2013, at Calvary Baptist Church in Hattiesburg. A reception will follow at the Canebrake Club House. Friends and family are invited to attend the wedding and reception.
