Services for Bobbie Thompson Blocker were held Monday, March 18, 2013, at 4 p.m. from McClain-Hays Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Smithey and Dr. Eugene Dobbs officiating. Burial followed in New Harmony Cemetery in Neshoba County. McClain-Hays Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Blocker, 79, died Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Neshoba County Nursing Home.
She was born and reared in Neshoba County and had made her home in Philadelphia for the past 50 years. Mrs. Blocker was a member of East Philadelphia Baptist Church. She was retired from Wells-Lamont Corporation after 35 years.
Survivors include her husband, Curtis Blocker of Philadelphia; daughter, Teresa Blocker Adkins (Terry) of Philadelphia; sons, Harold Robert Blocker (Tracy) and Tim Blocker (Michele), all of Madison; grandchildren, Leigh Alison Blocker, Chelsea Blocker, Anna Blocker, Tyler Adkins and Trent Adkins; sisters, Edwina Pope of Edinburg, Sallie Darling of Flora and Brenda Hindman of Texas; and brothers, Kenneth Thompson and Jimmy Thompson, both of Philadelphia and Gary Thompson of Hernando.
Mrs. Blocker was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Bertha Thompson and her brother, Curtis Thompson.
Pallbearers were Spencer Pope, Steve Pope, Randy Pope, Jamie Thompson, Murphy Thompson and Kevin Thompson.
